1975 Super Bowl featured classic battle between Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings

1975 Super Bowl featured classic battle between Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

The Super Bowl is known as the most exciting event in sports today, but it was not always quite the production that it is today. The game started to really gain the attention of the American people in the 1970's. The game in 1975 was a classic one as the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Minnesota Vikings.

The Pittsburgh Steelers represented the AFC after a 13-3-1 season and the Minnesota Vikings represented the NFC after a 12-5 season. The Vikings were in the Super Bowl the previous year and were dominated by the Dolphins. The Vikings were desperate to turn things around in 1975 and take home a Super Bowl victory after the loss in the previous season.

The Steelers were the Super Bowl betting favorites to win this game. The odds makers had the Vikings listed as 3 point underdogs for the game.

The weaknesses of the Vikings in their previous Super Bowl were their inability to score the ball and their inability to stop the running game of the Dolphins. They would face similar challenges in this game as the Steelers were known for having a staunch defense and a powerful running game behind Franco Harris.

The game started off as a physical battle. In the first quarter neither team was able to get things going offensively, and there were no points scored. The second quarter featured a continued defensive battle and it was actually the defense of the Steelers that put the first points on the board. The Steelers managed to force a safety in the second quarter to go up 2-0. The score would actually be tied 2-0 going into halftime.

The second half featured a lot more offense than the first half. Franco Harris started chugging along and carried the ball into the end zone to put the Steelers up 9-0 going into the fourth quarter of play. The Minnesota Vikings found their team scoreless going into the fourth quarter for the second consecutive season. This year they were within striking range, however and they would make a run towards victory.

The Vikings blocked a punt and scored a touchdown to bring the score closer. Unfortunately the Vikings were unable to convert on the extra-point and they were down 9-6 in this game. The Steelers received some help from their passing game late in the game as Terry Bradshaw threw a 4 yard touchdown to go up 16-6 in the fourth quarter. This would be enough to secure a victory for the Steelers as this would be the final score of the game.

The dominant factor in this game was the running of Franco Harris. Harris carried the ball 34 times for 158 yards and a touchdown in the game. He was helped by other running backs on the team as the Steelers finished with 249 yards on the ground for the game.

Harris was named the Most Valuable Player of the game for this Super Bowl as the Minnesota Vikings fell for the second consecutive season at the hands of a dominant running back.

1000 Golden Words About Sports That You Absolutely Could Have Lived Without and Will not Get Back

1000 Golden Words About Sports That You Absolutely Could Have Lived Without and Will not Get Back

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

The dog days of summer are upon us. We recently officially welcomed the warm season and you know what comes with that Well, not all that much sports-wise. The NBA Playoffs are over, the NHL has finished its final marginally relevant season (more to come on that), we still have over a month before we can actually use any “facts” when talking about Football, and the Baseball season isn’t far enough along for us to actually take a serious, dramatic interest in it. To make matters worse, Tiger Woods is done for the year. So watching Golf is certainly out. Golf without Tiger is like an episode of Entourage without Ari Gold, sure there’s a chance you might end up being entertained, but you sat down to watch Ari, if they told you he wasn’t going to be on beforehand, would you watch (I wouldn’t.)
It’s interesting that just about everything good on TV is off-air in the summer. Besides the sports, all the TV shows are done. Hell, seasons of American Idol last for four years and somehow they find time to take July and August off. Maybe it’s a secret government mandate sent down with the goal of getting fat America off the couch to lose some weight. Survey says, “It isn’t working.” But I digress…
Any who, with no riveting sports stories, there’s really nothing to take any sort of stand on, it’s not like it’s an election year or anything. So, I wanted to have some fun, make some ridiculous connections, play into some stereotypes, and just paint the sports landscape with as irresponsible a broad brush as I can. Ready Let’s get profiling!
- Don Imus and Warner Wolf is an interesting pair isn’t it Who gave them a microphone Forget the ridiculous things that come out of their mouths, when Inside Edition has to use subtitles to make sure you know exactly what they said about Pacman Jones, you think maybe it’s a clue to find some new blood It is radio after all.
- And I don’t get why everyone is so up in arms about the Imus/ Pacman remark. I mean, I think Imus was telling the truth, he’s truly hurt by the racial profiling the Police in this country do. When a public figure can call a Women’s Basketball Team “a bunch of nappy-headed hoes,” who’s to say there’s no profiling in America A valid point Sir Imus!
- I think I’m in the minority here, but I think the name change from “Pacman” to “Adam” will be a real career changer for Mr. Jones. I mean, I’ll still prefer to call him by his Stripper (Beating) name, but I think Adam is more fitting. He’s like the original Adam, and Roger Goodell is God. Go(o)d(ell) said, “Ok Adam, all this money and fame is all yours, I’m just going to give it to you, all you have to do is refrain from eating the apple (aka Making it rain). And just like the real Adam, you know Pacman is going to fail. Not only is he going to eat the apple, he’s going to eat the worm too.
- Something tells me that Jerry Jones took The Longest Yard a little too literally. At any rate, he proves that if you can throw your morals, ethics, and just general intelligence out the window, you can get some real bargains. But you can rest assured that there will always be someone to pay Michael Vick to fight dogs. When Tony Romo loses another playoff game because he was too busy hanging out with Miley Cyrus on the sidelines, big Jerry will be waiting outside Northern Neck Regional Prison with a big sign that says “Welcome Home Mike!” And you know what, people will justify it, Cowboys fans will give him a standing ovation after his first touchdown (which of course will follow 4 interceptions and a lost fumble).
- The NHL should have barred Barry Melrose from coaching. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he’s a great coach and will do a great job, but who’s going to see it Without that mullet on Sportscenter, not even Sid the Kid can get people to watch Hockey.
- The Shaq rapping on Kobe thing got me thinking. Have you ever noticed that the NBA is almost a mirror image of the rap industry Let’s explore this further:
- The NBA is the only major sport with an East Coast vs. West Coast rivalry. Sorry, the NHL again really doesn’t count as a major sport and you know it. The AFC and NFC aren’t geographic, and the AL and NL aren’t either.
- White guys suck at both, but hey, they get to make all the money off of it.
And to that point, doesn’t Kobe and Shaq remind you of Tupac and Biggie They can’t stand one another, and are both the best around, but the entire country is split on who to root for. Kobe even kind of looks like Tupac when you think about it. Maybe that’s where he went. He didn’t die; he just went to the NBA (Run with that). And Shaq isn’t even hiding his similarities to Biggie. Hell, he even called himself Biggie. You can’t understand either of them when they talk, but when they rap somehow they are able to speak coherent words. It’s the Billy Idol principle. Billy Idol speaking sounds like a Soccer hooligan meets Farmer Fran in the Waterboy. But somehow, when he sings, you understand it all. Why doesn’t he just sing all the time That would make for some interesting conversation.
And personally I like Kobe’s version of “Changes” better than Pac’s anyway.
Here’s a tidbit:
"I see no changes, wake up in the morning and I ask myself,
Will Kupchak trade me or can I trade myself
I'm tired of always losing to that oaf Shaq,
My stomach's hurting and I'm looking for a Pau to snatch."
You have to admit, the guy has talent...
Well, there it is. 1000 golden words on sports that you could have absolutely lived without and will not get back.

10 Core Tips for Coaching Youth Flag Football

10 Core Tips for Coaching Youth Flag Football

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

The main difference between adult sports and kids' games is that you should always remember that the kids sports are not as serious and results-oriented as adult games. You, the coach, and the kids should do it more for the fun of it. Aiming for the gold or winning should be a goal as long as you do not cheat or indulge in unfair practices just for the sake of it.

American culture is competitive, but there's no call to instill in children the mindset that winning is everything. There are also other things to think about, such as sportsmanship and respect for the other players.

Too often, our children are fed the wrong messages by the media. They see players in fisticuffs, yelling and screaming at the referee, and other such actions; they read articles and listen to and watch commentaries that tell them that violence and cheating for the sake of winning are normal and acceptable.

Often the coach must undo, in practice and on the field, what hours of exposure to these messages do to children. Look around you: adults have disorganized the world enough with their selfish attitudes and disingenuous explanations. Do you honestly want to help pass this down to the next generation

Teach the kids to accept victory with magnanimity and defeat graciously. The old saying "It's not whether you win or lose; it's how you played the game" should be emphasized. You probably already shake hands with the opposing coaching staff after a game, so try having your members thank the opposing team after the game, no matter who won.

Dissuade them from showboating, but don't go so far as to totally stop acknowledging the good things individuals do - a little attaboy after a fourth touchdown, or an excellent block, is never out of line. Just don't promote individuals so much that they start acting like they're better than their team mates. This is demoralizing and disruptive.

As a coach you should inspire your members to give their best and work well with other team members to achieve the team's goals. You are a role model for the children under your wing, like it or not. What you do impresses them more powerfully than what you say. So always carry yourself accordingly. Strive to emphasize sportsmanship, character, and trust.

Have a Plan

Always plan and think of your goals for the team. Discuss this with your team members. Take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of each team member. The ages and sex of the members may vary and this should be carefully analyzed by the coach to maximize advantages and minimize the disadvantages. At their times of growth, not all boys and girls are going to develop at the same way or at the same rate.

Warm Up

Warm-up exercises before playing are very important. Some stretching and muscle exercises must be standard procedure before a game. This will ensure less injuries and more agility on the part of the players. They will become better prepared and stay focused as they move on into the game. It also gives them time to adjust from whatever it was that they were doing before - time to settle into the grove of playing team sports.

Keep It Simple

Remember to make your demonstrations of the skills or techniques simple for the kids to follow. Don't try to cram too much information in one session. Demonstrations should not look complicated or time-consuming. Nor should they be boring; if you notice your team members' attentions wandering while you're talking, it's time to either take a different tack on the subject or go do something else.

Practice! Practice! Practice!

Practice ensures mastery of techniques and skills. It also helps boost the kid's confidence as they become more familiar with certain moves.

Be Flexible

Always be ready with alternatives should your main plans falter. Maybe doing something differently at that time is the order of the day.

Get Yourself an Assistant

Generals have lots of staff. The President has a whole Cabinet full of them. You're a general of sorts too, aren't you Why don't you have even one

You're not superhuman. It helps if you have someone help you do your job as coach. This would leave you free to concentrate on your players since you wouldn't have to think about setting the equipment up at the same time. It can also be a lifesaver in emergencies to have another adult around.

Show Respect for Your Players

Don't be too dictatorial. Be sensitive to the children's limitations and emotions. Even if they look up to you for guidance and support, you must value their opinions and understand your players' different personalities. Never humiliate a player publicly. Never corner a player until he or she has no option but to go through you.

If you're explaining a play, ask them questions like, "What's the reason for this" or "Is there anything we should watch out for when trying this out" The fact that you're asking them reinforces their self-esteem and makes them feel like they're an important part of your football team.

Maintain Discipline

Agree on the rules for discipline. Setting this early can lead to a more organized practice not just for one meeting but for the rest of the season. Earn and engage the kid's respect so they will stay focused on the game and not engage in disruptive activities. If one team is practicing plays, the other players can be doing drills while waiting for their turn. This keeps everyone busy and prevents boredom. Have the assistant supervise one group while you coach the other.

Learn to Differentiate between Normal Roughhousing and Malicious Behavior

There's no hard and fast rule to this, but call the member aside and talk to them if you feel it's necessary. Don't use exercise as a punitive measure. Benching them is more effective, as this deprives them of the chance to participate in the activity that they're supposed to be engaging in.

Following these tips will assist you in creating a positive coaching environment for your team.

15 members of Philippine Azkals arrive; set to meet fans on Monday

15 members of Philippine Azkals arrive; set to meet fans on Monday

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

The Philippine National Football team shared their expertise with selected kids in a football clinic yesterday at the Aboitiz Field.
The Azkals trained the members of the Under-13 national team who dubbed themselves the Little Azkals. The young players are set to leave for Malaysia this Monday to face nine countries in the Asean Football Confederation Festival of Football.
"It's an inspiration for the kids who are looking forward to be one with the Azkals someday," said Richard Montayre of the Cebu Football Association.
Five Cebuanos made it to the lineup of the Little Azkals, who will be sent on the first international Under-13 competition of the AFC. The country was able to send a national team for the Under-14 tournament last year.
"This is a stronger team this year," said Montayre.
Coach Elying Toledo revealed that the kids were excited to meet their idols but he constantly reminds his players to stay focused as they are down to the final days of training. "Masaya kasi dito rin kami nagsimula. Magandang way ito para mapromote yung football grassroots," said striker Ian Araneta.
Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, who is visiting Cebu for second time, said he hopes for more kids to be involved in football clinics.
"Helping children learn football is a great experience for me," Etheridge said.
Injuries
Meanwhile, Azkal forward William Espinosa dislocated his elbow in a non-football related accident when he fell off-balance from a jetski while frolicking with the team.
He was brought directly to Mactan Doctors' Hospital but no fracture was reflected in the X-ray results. Espinosa is in half cast right now.
"He will be ready in one to two weeks. There is no problem on fitness," said conditioning coach Josef Malinay.
On the other hand, Anton Del Rosario caught a viral infection that was very similar with what derailed Chad Gould.
He was hospitalized but is expected to recover in the next few days.
LAPU-LAPU, Cebu – Filipino-British goalkeeper Neil Etheridge is confident that he has a bright future with his English Premier League team Fulham Football Club (FC).
Etheridge, who plays an important role in the Philippine Azkals, said Fulham has big plans for him.
"They think I have a lot of push toward the future," Etheridge, who plays as reserve goalkeeper for Fulham, told abs-cbnNEWS.com.
Fulham recently extended Etheridge's contract until 2013.
At 21 years old, Etheridge has been considered as one of the Philippines' football gems, being one of the first Filipino-British players in the English Premier League.
He, however, said he still has a lot to prove.
"I'm still young for goalkeeper. A lot of goalkeeper playing in the mainstream are 25, 26 or older than that so you can imagine that I have a long time to wait," he said.
"I don't wanna push myself too much to start causing arguments... There's always a time for things. So far I'm taking the right steps at the right time," Etheridge added.
Etheridge returned to the Philippines to rejoin the Philippine Azkals in their quest to reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Azkals are scheduled to face Sri Lanka in the first round of the World Cup qualifiers.
Their home-and-away series with Sri Lanka will take place on June 29 and July 3.

10 College Football Handicapping Tips

10 College Football Handicapping Tips

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

10 College Football Handicapping Tips
by JJBeatz of www.collegefootballbreakdown.com

1) Favor large favorites in the first few weeks of the season.
Past History says so.
Power Ratings are based of "average performance" The better teams get psyched to play the inferior teams in the first few weeks and therefore are able to raise there level of play while the inferior team cannot regardless of their anticipation.
The hot weather and the lack of physical endurance is a problem for all teams early in the season.Since the inferior tends to be on the field longer and normally has less depth, the inferior team wears down more than usual in the early weeks.

2) Be Quick on Week 2
After Week 1, there will be several teams that played better than their power ratings, meaning that the covered the spread by a wide margin, or those who played worse than their power ratings, meaning that they failed to cover by a wide margin. This is an opportunity for the bettor. The opportunity exists because you may be able to adjust your power ratings quicker than the bookmakers do.You must analyze each game that produced these results to see if the team is actually better or worse than the bookmaker's power ratings. What's most important about the analysis is effort.

3) Be a little leery of the larger favorites between Week 3 to Conference Openers ?Teams that have clearly flexed their muscles and have looked impressive in the first two or three weeks may be looking to rest players, hide any new plays, shorten the game, and in general, "go through the motion."The coaching staff understands what they have and now will be focusing on the bigger prize, conference play.

4) Matchups! Matchups! Matchups!
Finding Matchup advantages is a great way to find an edge verse other bettors. The simple approach of comparing offensive and defensive rushing and passing statistics is good, but you must go deeper.
You will many experts analyzing speed verse strength, but the most important matchup to consider is at the line of scrimmage. You must do your homework to understand the strengths and weakness of the offensive and defensive lines. For example, one offensive line may be very strong at preventing bull rushing attack but may be vulnerable to speedy defensive lines. What are they facing this weekThese are just a few of questions you must answer when looking at matchups.

5) Energy
The energy and focus that a college football team puts on each week is a great determinant of the final outcome.Unlike the NFL where teams show up with great effort each week because their job and compensation depends on it, college football players are 18-22 year old students who have responsibilities and limited practice time to get prepared.Automatically, "getting up" or being focused for every gay is not possible. Many college coaches will tell you that they cannot get their team to be completely focused and energized more than 3 or 4 times a year. With this said, handicapping the energy and focus level that a team will play with each week is as important as the talent differentials of the teams.www.collegefootballbreakdown.com devotes a section of the website called Team Intensity Team Intensity which analyzes the expected energy and focus that a team will give forth. There are several factors that go into the number and with our experience, JJ Beatz and Yonkers Phil are able to use this to our advantage when making picks.

6) Be Dynamic! Take advantage of Mid-Season Team Improvements
Most betters have 9 to 5s and do not have the time to follow every nuance of each team.Opinions on team's power ratings are formed in the first 4 or 5 weeks when betters are expressly interested in gauging the talent levels. This opinion tends to be burned into the casual bettors mind. They feel that there work is done and they do not have to continue to gauge talent level. This is an opportunity for a smart handicapper to take advantage of teams who are making improvements and who are benefitting from weak Vegas Power Rating.Be dynamic with your opinions. You might just discover a team that has been written off but one that covers 4 or 5 straight.??www.CollegeFootballBreakdown.com's staff is always on the lookout for these type of mid-season turnaround stories who can cash in for you.

7) Bet against teams with inferior defenses on the road.
On the road, you must posses a defense than can stem momentum and settle the crowd. If you cannot play solid sudden change defense on the road, things have a way of getting ugly.Take advantage

8 ) Bet against teams late in the season that are wearing down due attrition of players. These teams should be on the field for at least 90 plays on defense. After week 9, most teams who seem to be reeling, continue to play poorly until they meet a team that is as bad.

9) Setups
Good handicappers are looking at matchups that can be exploited several weeks in advance. The main questions that remain for their decision are how the teams enter the game and what the line will be.This method of looking ahead is great for 3 reasons.1) It forces you concentrate on each team's performance heading into the game which gives you better insight than reading past recaps. (or you can visit the www.CollegeFootballBreakdown.com Game Breakdown section for real analysis)2) It prevents betting into a line that is substantially worse than expected. It you are expecting to lay 3 points but the actual line comes up 6, regardless of the matchup, you may have to prudently lay off from wagering.3) Waiting for perceived fantastic setups helps with money management by controlling overbetting on 1, 2, or 3 star games knowing that a possible 5 star game is coming up in the next few weeks.

10) Adjust to new information
Continue to work each week on finding new information e.g. game changing injuries on the lines of scrimmage that get overlooked, subtle weather changes that especially may affect the game, such as, wind or rain.Finding a consistent edge takes a lot of digging and hard work. You will find some of this information in the Inside Slant and Game Preview sections of www.collegefootballbreakdown.com.But you may have a higher winning percentage by just following the Weekly Picks Section because Our Efforts Are Your Gains.

3 Soccer Warm Up Drills For Kids

3 Soccer Warm Up Drills For Kids

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

Believe it or not even young kids participating in soccer need to warm up. Most young players could get away with not warming up but its good practice to get them to warm up. By creating a structured training session you allow the kids to pick up good habits that will inevitably stay with them for the length of their soccer career.
Before you get your players to stretch, it's a good idea to get them to jog around the field for approximately 10 minutes. This will ensure that their body core temperature has risen and the blood is pumping through the required muscles. Once the muscles have warmed up they become more elastic and will be easier to stretch.
Once your players have finished their light jog you can proceed to the stretching phase of the warm up. Static stretching is a thing of the past and has been replaced with dynamic warming up and stretching. This simply means that the warm up and stretching will be done using the same motions and movements that are needed during the heavier loads of the session. Basically same movements but at a slower more controlled pace.
Knees to Ball Drill
For this drill each player takes hold of a ball. They hold the ball slightly away from their bodies while trying to hit the ball with their knees. They continue this exercise for about 30 seconds changing and using alternate knees. This drill is great for warming up the quads which are used to power your knee lifts. The motion is also great for stretching the quads, groin areas and hamstrings. The required knee lifts also ensures the players heart rate increases preparing the players for the rest of the session.
Toe to Ball Drill
This drill requires the players to work in pairs. One player holds the ball in front of him while the other player tries to kick the ball with his toes. The sequence of the drill requires the player to change legs after each contact with the ball. Left toe followed by right toe and so on. This drill should last about 30 seconds and players should change positions and roles.
This drill gives your hamstrings a good work out. Not only does it increase the blood flow to the legs but it also gives your hamstrings a great stretch and increases your stretching range.
Toe to Hand
This drill is a continuation of the second drill. Now each player will try and kick the end of their fingers with their toes. Just pretend to kick a ball and follow through reaching up towards your fingers. Right leg will follow through to the left hand and vice-versa. This drill gives your hamstrings are greater stretch and also replicates the motion of kicking which will be needed later on in the session.
Once your players have warmed up and spent some time stretching, introduce some balls into the training session and continue to increase the pace and the work loads of the training drills.

Countless numbers of summer camps have started to provide football training, but not all of them will teach you the much needed skills for become a actual better football player. It is very important to make sure that the summer camp that you choose will give you the three skills that are important playing football.

1. The speed
Speed is the key factor that decides the success of a professional football player. Speed is very important for the players in the offensive position. As the offense players have an important role in flag football, he needs to be fast and precise in passing the game. It has to be noted that a slow offensive player in flag football can cause enough damage to loose the game. Various training techniques are used today to increase the speed of the flag football players. You should have noted that the very best football training summer camps will give much importance to speed than anything else.

2. Breaking towards the sidelines
The offense player of the flag football team should also be able to break towards the sidelines immediately after catching the ball. Breaking towards the sidelines after catching the ball at the highest point will prevent the defenders of the game from getting the best angle to grab the flags. Moreover, breaking towards the sidelines will limit the number of flags that the defenders of the game will be able to grab. Hence the skill of quickly breaking towards the sidelines is necessary to become successful in flag football.

3. The defense players should be fast and aggressive
It must be noted that the defense line up of flag football must be very aggressive. The aggressiveness of the defense players will force the offense players of the other team to make mistakes and will provide the opportunity to pick more flags. When compared to the skills needed for a player in offense position, the defense player skills are easy to develop.

Choosing the summer camp
If you wish to become a professional flag football player, you should select the summer camp which offers football training based on the above mentioned key factors.

2Nd March - Coca-Cola Football League One - Oldham Athletic Vs United Leeds

2Nd March - Coca-Cola Football League One - Oldham Athletic Vs United Leeds

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

Coca-Cola Football League 1 is ranked as the second-highest division in the football league and third highest division in the English football league. This Football League was first introduced in 2004-2005 season before getting the name of Coca-Cola Football League; it was called as football league second division. This season, the matches of this league are going on amusing football fanatics; there is still great football sport ahead in the form of many tough confrontations of teams on coming month.

One important match of this league will take place on 2nd March between Oldham and Leeds. If you review football livescore schedule, you will also come across the details of clash between Leeds United and Oldham Athletic scheduled on 2nd march. Recently, Oldham Athletic has launched a campaign for Royal Oldham hospital to raise awareness for the support of this hospital as they are successful to collect £250,000 funds for the improvement of the hospital. Leeds continuously enjoys the latest trend of good home form with their consecutive wins over many teams as they recently have recently defeated Cheltenham.

If they repeat this trick again for their coming matches, they will hopefully display attractive live football score chart for the reputation of their club. They still need to implement some strategies for the improvement of their weak points as they should not rely only on the benefit of playing in their home ground. Leeds united manager; Simon Grayson has admitted that performance of his team in the last match against Hereford United that was not satisfactory. He says that United Leeds think of it as inspiration for coming matches to get surety that it will not happen again. The reason was that this time Leeds did not show high quality performance in this match.

While on the other hand, Oldham Athletic manager John Sheridan showed some sad expression over the defeat of his club in Tuesday with 2-0 home defeat from Bristol Rovers. After this defeat, Oldham Athletic must give concentration to improve their performance for coming matches. They will be facing United Leeds on 2nd March in the Coca-cola League one match where they will need to perform well if they want to get dominance over Leeds. In the last match against Bristol Rovers, the players of Oldham Athletic looked helpless before the striking performance Byron Anthony and Darryl Duffy as they scored goals to get victory over their opposition for the second time in this season.

In the match against Yeovil Town, they performed well as this match was ended in draw and it made Oldham Athletic to get four more points. Now the players of this club are hoping to perform best in the coming match because it will be good for success of their club as well. If Oldham Athletic wants to win the title of Coca-Cola League One, they will bring some extraordinary performance on 2nd march. They are already at fourth position in the league table ranking so they need a few victories to move at top position.

4 Best Explosive Upper Body Exercises For Football Lineman

4 Best Explosive Upper Body Exercises For Football Lineman

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

While most of the emphasis placed on strength training programs for football lineman on the legs, and calligrapher also need the higher bodies explosive!?If you have strong legs, but can not hit with the hands, then you will not be very good calligrapher.?Strength training exercises for your football should take this into account.?If you fail to do this, you will be calligrapher average at best.?

"I tell ya, and legs and strong like a bull, but he aimed a punch like a girl of 7 years old!"Ah, yes, are definitely known to football coaches of their sensitivity.?In fact, in this case, the coach was right.?I have invited a friend of mine from before training to find out what is wrong with one of the most promising of the calligrapher.?

It was a big baby, and can squat a ton, but not only with people like that should be.?He worked very hard in training, strength of football, but something was missing.?After watching him practice for some time, I noticed immediately that two problems: the hips, leaving behind a little when the ban: I lost all power leg when blocked (corrected form fast to resolve this) and his hands were way too slow (this takes a little more work)?

We have witnessed the last decade or so, the spread of heavy, hard, fast and low body strength training.?The emphasis placed on the back of a series of transients and increase the speed and made the game of football in a whole lot faster.?This is a welcomed break from muscle and fitness programs inspired by''80 x.?

However, many of the programs the power of football is still a huge element of negligence - Explosiveness upper body!?Are largely ignored speed manual.?So that you can run a lot of fast men or a lot of lifting weights, but a strike atmosphere like glass!?
If you have strong legs and hips, but not explosive force in the upper part of the body, you get owned by you.?You will lose a lot of power so that power will be provided in your legs are worthless.?In order to ensure a strong upper part of the body of your games less, here are the exercises 4 should you need to do:?

Permanent press Quick Band

This is a great warm-up exercise on the bench and will also train your mind to make a quick transfer of your weapons with maximum power.?Setup is super easy.?Grab the band of light and stump around on your back and your headers like so:?

Stumping the band.?Go low on the back and the band must be located in your headers.?It is from this position to do bench your band.?

Now, get in a good sports (arched back and hips so the bottom of the chest - just as you are on the line of my large doll).?Once you set your position, start the "benching" the band as soon as humanly possible for 3 reps.?The rest of 30 - seconds and repeat.?Do this 3 to 4 rounds.?

Since you are working against the resistance band, it is important to make sure you do not slow toward the end of the press.?An attempt to punch the band so hard it will break. This is similar to how to teach martial artists to the punch "through" someone, rather than the provision of contact.?Teaching the brain to accelerate in the hands (and legs) through a full range of motion and you will get faster and stronger and hit harder.?

Plyometric raise

Movement of the old school that is not just part of the training programs enough to football these days.?Plyometric, or explosive push-ups, a great way to wake up in the central nervous system and get the muscles responsible for asleep and a cease-fire.They're also a great way to train yourself to produce massive amounts of power in the upper part of the body.?
Drop-down to pay up in a normal position.?Instead of doing just lifting, you will explode up.?Should come with a lot of strength so that you can literally left on the ground.?If you've seen ever a person doing a "clap push-up" This is what should look like.?You need to produce enough power so as to leave your body on the ground and you have enough time to clap your hands.?

Clap push-up

A great alternative to the type of applause to set up two panels (25 work well in lifting distance away. Now, the operations of the payment with your hands on the boards, drop down and explode up. This will give you an inch or so further from the CD-ROM.?

Prowler (or skis) duck walk and punch

This is my favorite calligrapher.?It is not only effective and fun sport specific but Super done for.?This may have something to do with the fact that it is very similar to conceal reality and the players can really see how the movement can go.?

You have to get a Prowler or bobsleigh and a set of straps with handles.?Blast straps very hard for this purpose.?

Attach all of the tapes of the ski, and walk out until theres tension.?Now, lower your position in sports; handles to the side with the arms close to the body (again, as you will have the pre-block).?Get set and go off.?Pop hips and handles to punch in and out ...?Like when the embargo.?Out a bit, and reset and do it again.?Repeat for 20 yards or so, rest, then do it again.?

You can do this without just using the tapes upright poles on the Prowler, but if you train more than a few athletes, can be your Prowler in the end up getting the worst of the exchange.?Although the new engine with Prowler pad would make this easier!?In both cases, the important thing is to make sure you know the time, hip-pop punch correctly.Hips after a quick or fast by a big ...?But you have to be able to coordinate among themselves in order to achieve maximum results.?

Sandbag clean and pay

The difference here really cool to clean and press, which is ideal for training the power of football because it's very specific, especially for the calligrapher.?It will require great strength and let, and the transfer of power from the legs through the hips and the upper part of the body and muscular coordination.?

And, all you need is a bag of sand and a little bit of room.?Tote bag, clean it in any way it deems appropriate, the use of different handles, control mixed or just grab the bag itself. Now, to clean high-Sadr.?When I say clean, I do not mean at the end of the day in one of this type divide the legs - 8ft, and regardless of the positions of clean.?Does not mean the end to clean in a good position for the football - just as you are before it will be brick, and treatment, and jumping, Sprint.?

Representatives of the first few to hold this position, and then pop the hips and the payment of a bag as much as you can.?I think if it was like a permanent press corps.?It is a movement that was used exactly when the embargo, which makes it an excellent calligrapher movement.?Perhaps it is one of the most important training exercises specific to the world of football.?

After you get the movement down, and start the entire movement and the exercise of one full stop instead of with the bag in the chest before the rise in pressure.?This is the perfect time to raise the video or any other coach / teammate Watch you and critique your form.?There are no guarantees many in football, football training, but I can confirm that the curse of the near that this process will improve the prevention and treatment sector.

2 Football Conditioning Drills for Linebackers

2 Football Conditioning Drills for Linebackers

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

Football Conditioning Drills for Linebackers Linebackers are constantly on the move. Therefore, their football conditioning drills need to prepare them to be able to run sideline to sideline, into the line of scrimmage, through the Offensive Linemen, make the make the tackle and send a message. Then, they have to be able to get up and do it all over again. So, your football training needs to prepare your linebackers (or yourself, if you're a player) to be able to do this.
Here are a few conditioning drill designed to do exactly this: get your linebackers into amazing game shape...giving them ability to continually make plays all over the football field. Over and over again, for 4 quarters!
One quick note: jogging is worthless. It has no place in any football training program...football players, and linebackers especially, are designed to perform like rockets...explosive and powerful...not like some damn cross country runner!
Jogging can actually make football players slower. We have fast twitch muscle fibers, slow twitch and then there's a 3rd class of muscle fibers that can be converted one way or the other. Jogging and slow movements can convert them into slow twitch - the football player and explosive athlete's worst enemy!
Hill Sprint and Sandbag Carry

Here is an excellent builder of mental toughness that builds on the basic hill sprint.
Rather than just bounding up the hill, you'll carry a medium-heavy sandbag the entire way in either the Zercher position or on one of your shoulders. Both ways can and should be used. This has the added benefit of strengthening the abs and obliques while you build endurance.
Start with 5 – 7 sprints, total. These are harder than they sound, and, you're very early in the off-season. This will keep you in good shape without interfering with your strength or speed gains!
Sled Relays
Load a medium sled and sprint for 15-yards
Then, sprint back to the starting line with no sled.
Rest, walk back and repeat.
Do 5 total runs.

“Go home you fraud,” fans boo Beckham

“Go home you fraud,” fans boo Beckham

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

British footballer David Beckham confronted a fan after receiving ugly taunts and boos from certain spectators during his first home game with LA Galaxy on Sunday.

After first half, the former England captain walked over to a section of the crowd holding anti-Beckham banners and signaled to an apparently hostile LA Galaxy fan to come closer, a man sitting in the crowd immediately jumped down from the seats but security managed to stop him before he reached Beckham.

The hostility comes after Beckham accepted a five month loan from AC Milan, which saw him missing almost 20 games for LA Galaxy. Ironically, the match being played was against AC Milan, which could explain the visibly bitter attitude towards the England star. The match ended up as a 2-2 draw and despite the fact that Beckham set up both goals, some Galaxy fans held up signs insulting and taunting him.

“Is evil something you do or something you are” Read one sign.

“Go home you fraud!” Said another one.
It is openly known that Beckham and Galaxy skipper Landon Donovan have been at logger heads in the past. Donovan apparently accused Beckham of been uncommitted to the team and egos between the two players clashed further after Donovan’s statements’ against Beckham on a recent book, The Beckham Experiment caused a stir in American soccer.

Galaxy coach Bruce Arena mediated the feud between the stars and it is reported that the players have resolved their personal disputes.

Cheers were merely ambient compared to the severe booing Beckham endured and the heckling continued even after Beckham was finally substituted 15 minutes before game time.

Goals for AC Milan were scored by Thiago Silva in the first half and Filipo Inzaghi in the 61st minute.

Alan Gordon scored for Galaxy after 30 minutes and Bryan Jordan headed in the equalizer from a Beckham corner in the 65th minute.

Early this year, Beckham admitted that he would rather remain with AC Milan because Europe has superior standards of football and believes playing in Italy would prepare him for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

‘Why The NFL Would Love To Have Survival Sunday!'

‘Why The NFL Would Love To Have Survival Sunday!'

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

This article looks at the contrast between the English Premier League and the NFL, and examines why the NFL would love to have days like ‘Survival Sunday', but never will…
I love football. I hate it being called ‘soccer'. That's viewed as pure Americanism, but in defence of that, the Americans got it originally from an English term, so it's no big deal in my eyes.
I also love the NFL. The two games are very different, both in structure and appeal, and in this article I want to examine a difference that was driven home on Sunday 22nd May 2011 in the English Premier League. I will say as you read on, that I will be using ‘football' and ‘NFL' to define the 2 sports. Ok, ready Here we go…
May 22nd 2011 was dubbed ‘Survival Sunday' in the English Premier League. Each season, 3 of the 20 teams are relegated to the division below. That's based on the end table after each team has played each other twice.
On the last day of the 2010/11 season, one team was already relegated, but any of 5 other teams could have ended up in the other bottom 2 places. It all depended on the results of the final day's games.
Relegation from the Premier League is a disaster for any club. Not only do they lose around $70 million in television money, but they lose their top quality players who need to play in the top league.
Those two factors are enough to make getting back into the league hard, although it is possible to get promoted straight back up again the next season.
‘Survival Sunday' was superb. Goals flew in all around the relevant games, and the 2 remaining relegation slots changed over and over between the teams.
Fans went from elation to despair and back again. There could hardly be a better example of why so many people love sport - it links emotions and real life.
The NFL simply does not offer the same scenario. There is no league structure from which any team can get relegated/promoted. Each team is a franchise of the central business, you can't just start you own team and work your way up.
Many top teams have been relegated in football. The precarious financial balancing act of many clubs can come crashing down with alarming speed, and names which seem a fixture in the top flight can find themselves going through the trap door and out of the division.
Can you imagine the Dallas Cowboys, the self-styled ‘America's Team', being relegated to a lower level No, and that's what stops the real grass roots development of the NFL outside the US.
The NFL, the National Football league, was set up as business, structured (in the same way as the game itself) in a way to contain sporting spectacle as a package. It works too, and I love the combination of tactics and athleticism.
The playoff system does give a sudden death knockout element to the season, but if a team loses, they know they have next season to try again.
Not so in the Premier League, where failure will send you out of the top flight for a whole season at the very least. Who knows, a relegated team might *never* again be in the top division.
That's what the NFL lacks. I love watching the excitement of the first day of the NFL season, through to the playoffs and the Superbowl, but I think it will always be jealous of ‘Survival Sunday', and it's a card the Premier League can always use as a trump card.

"its Just Dogs..."

"its Just Dogs..."

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

Michael Vick walked into a Richmond, Virginia court room and pled guilty to a felony charge of dog fighting. He is to be sentenced on December 10th in which he may receive a 5 year prison sentence for fighting dogs. In Vicks statement of facts from his plea agreement, he states that he executed up to 4 dogs by hanging, electrocuting, and beating them to death. No argument from me, this was a terrible and reprehensible act and he deserves to be punished. But let’s not forget one simple fact… “Its just dogs”.

Allow me to give you a few examples of why I say “its just dogs...” Mary Winkler kills her husband, is found guilty and serves 7 months in prison in Tennessee. Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis is charged with murder, pleads out to a lesser charge and does not serve prison time for the crime. St. Louis Rams linebacker Leonard Little is an admitted alcoholic and was responsible for the death of a young woman because of his decision to drive drunk. Mr. Little was fined and suspended 8 games from the NFL. Here is the best example yet. Three black teenagers were murdered execution style in Newark, New Jersey and there were no protest. Where are the people for the ethical treatment of human beings Hell, what about a civil rights organization protesting crime in that area. What about a little compassion for three innocent young people who lost their lives because of the stupidity of three people. Yet when Vick was first arraigned on dog fighting charges, Peta, the Humane Society and various animal rights groups protested outside of the Virginia courthouse demanding that Vick be thrown in jail. Vick is about to sit in prison for murdering dogs, yet a woman can murder her husband and serve less than a year in prison and we can sit back with a nonchalant attitude while teenagers are being killed. So once again, “its just dogs…”

I also keep hearing about “the Vick divide.” Before Michael Vick there was a huge racial divide in this country, he didn’t cause it. Anytime a black athlete is accused of doing anything wrong he is automatically assumed guilty and his character is assassinated. People wanted Vick thrown in prison, banished from the NFL and his contract and money taken away. Now if this has nothing to do with race then I have no idea what does. Whether you agree with me or not, white people have an affinity for dogs and if this were of a different matter Vick would be gearing up to start the NFL regular season. Over and over again… “Its just dogs…”

It’s shameful that we still live in a society where race can cause such a huge divide on an issue where we should all agree. Vick killed dogs and he should be punished for it. But to take this man’s life away for a mistake he made all because of the color of his skin is disgraceful. I’ll give you one more example. Robert Byrd, a senator from the state of West Virginia, gave a speech on the Senate floor about his love for dogs. But within Senator’s Byrd’s speech, he states that “the hottest places in hell are reserved for sick and brutal people who hold God’s creatures in such brutal and cruel contempt." So Mary Winkler and the 3 men who brutally murdered three teenagers in Newark are going to hell to right While we have a war going on in another country and soldiers are dying everyday, this senator decides to spend time talking about Michael’s afterlife. And please refrain from telling me that Mr. Byrd was not referring to Michael Vick.

So Michael Vick’s case proves that the American justice system is screwed and that the racial divide in America still exists. However, the shortcoming of the justice system and the huge divide of race in America was persistent long before Michael Vick. I only hope and pray that the next brother who makes a mistake, and there will be another one, that he isn’t treated as harshly and severely as Mr. Vick. The time for change has come, knocked on the door, beat down the door, gone and come back to try again. Yet we fail to answer the door or the phone when change comes knocking or calling. The Michael Vick case is another opportunity for Americans to change and stop being so judgmental. The phone is ringing and so is the door bell, its just up to us to answer the call. So as long as teenagers are being murdered, socialites can serve10 days in jail for drunk driving, a woman can serve a 7 month sentence for murder, and CEO’s steal stockholders money and serve a few months in jail they will always be… “Just dogs” to me..

-JH

2 Ways to Get Faster for Football

2 Ways to Get Faster for Football

http://www.liverpoolfchk.com

How to Get Faster for Football: Football Workouts to Build Crazy Game Speed in 2 Steps Sadly, most speed training programs for football are out of whack. Far too many guys who need to get faster for football go about it in the complete wrong way! They set up their workouts based on track and field, not football. The Secret of how to get faster for football does not lie in the world of track.
Track is fine...for guys who run track. However, we're attempting to get faster on the football field! Football is a game of chaos, you need to be fast in all directions. You need to stop, start, backpeddal, run laterally, run on angles...track and field workouts do NOT prepare you to build football speed.
Here's how to do it in 3 easy steps.
1. Build Maximum, Top-End Strength
Your football workouts had better build top end strength or you're wasting your time, plain and simple.
Speed is fueled by strength. The stronger you are, the faster you are. If you want to turn to the track and field Gods, then know that the top male sprinters are crazy strong!
2. Transfer Strength into More Speed with Plyometrics
To get a real feel for what plyos are and what they can do for football, think of them this way:
When you perform any sort of muscular work – lifting, running, jumping, even walking – your muscles will alternate between a period of lengthening (the eccentric phase) and contracting (shortening phase).
The simplest analogy is that of you jumping and a spring. Both store energy, then release it upwards. in your case, you drop into a rapid squat (eccentric) before contracting your muscles to propel you up into a jump.
It is that rapid stretch phase that leads to such high amounts of potential elastic energy (we'll refer to this as explosiveness for the sake of simplicity).
Explosive strength is a specific motor quality requiring specific training methods. this can be done in the weight room with max effort work, chains, bands, and dynamic effort movements. but, these will still leave a gap in strength. this is where Plyos are useful.
Because the Central Nervous System is the key to being faster, more explosive and stronger, we need to use training methods that train the CNS.
